On March 13, 2018, the International Women’s Health Coalition (IWHC), in cooperation with the governments of Canada, New Zealand, and the Republic of Zambia, hosted a side event on child marriage and maternal mortality in rural settings at the sixty-second session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW62).

IWHC president Françoise Girard moderated the panel, which featured Danedjo Hadidja, president of l’Association pour la Promotion de l’Autonomie et des Droits de la Jeune Fille/Femme (APAD); Zainab Khan, research, monitoring, and evaluation coordinator of Aahung; and Smriti Thapa, president of Youth Champion Advocacy Nepal (YCANN).
