The State Department's Commission on Unalienable Rights Aims to Justify Discrimination Against Women, Girls, and LGBTQI people.
The Commission on Unalienable Rights is an advisory body created by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to advise on the role of human rights in US foreign policy. With a mandate to “provide fresh thinking” on human rights and distinguish between unalienable rights and those purportedly provided ad hoc, the Commission is as a thinly veiled attempt to re-write global human rights obligations and create a hierarchy that prioritizes freedom of religion at the expense of women, girls, and LGBTQI people.
