Vice President of Development and Communications

Yael joined IWHC as vice president for development and communications in July of 2016. Previously, she was the senior director for international initiatives at Human Rights Watch, where she worked to develop Human Rights Watch’s fundraising efforts in countries including India and Brazil, and oversaw the development and communications strategies for the organization’s global network of 900-plus donors, the Human Rights Watch Council. She has over 15 years of nonprofit experience in development and outreach, including in foundation relations and grantwriting, events management, and individual giving, and has worked with organizations including the American India Foundation, the Maisha Foundation, and the Delhi-based women’s rights organization Action India. She was a founding member of the nonprofit consulting firm, Dinter Consulting.

Yael holds a BA from New York University and an MPA in international nonprofit management and public policy from the Wagner School for Public Service at New York University.
