Sharon works to sustain and grow IWHC’s burgeoning support base on the West Coast. Sharon has over a decade of experience promoting health equity in the US and abroad. She built her career path in human rights advocacy starting as an intern at Human Rights Watch, then as a volunteer with Planned Parenthood, and most recently as a Global Justice Fellow with American Jewish World Service. Sharon’s first professional role in the Bay Area was as Development Officer for Stand.earth, an international environmental advocacy organization. Since 2013, she has developed global and community health initiatives for the University of California, San Francisco, in Malawi, Haiti, and Mexico. Sharon also serves as a Peer Support Volunteer for Shanti, a community organization serving breast cancer survivors in San Francisco.
She holds a Master of Public Health from San Francisco State University, and a BA from Barnard College in political science and Latin American studies.
