Program Officer

Rachel Jacobson joined IWHC in April 2016 as a program officer for international policy focusing on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, HIV, and child, early, and forced marriage. Prior to joining IWHC, Rachel spent many years as an abortion care provider and counselor in Texas, as well as advocating for women’s and young people’s human rights globally with Human Rights Watch, the Global Youth Coalition on HIV/AIDS, and the Youth Coalition for Sexual and Reproductive Rights.

Rachel holds a BA summa cum laude in women’s studies and human rights studies from Barnard College and an MPH from the Mailman School of Public Health of Columbia University.
