Maya Lorey joined IWHC in September 2018 as a Tom Ford Philanthropy Fellow in the Office of the President. In this role, she conducts research for President Françoise Girard and provides programmatic assistance to the grantmaking and advocacy teams. Her work for IWHC is supported by the Stanford University Haas Center for Public service through funding from the Sand Hill Foundation.
Prior to joining IWHC, Maya interned on the portfolio and investments team at the Skoll Foundation, performing quantitative and qualitative analysis of grants and program related investments. She also worked as a research assistant at TeachAids, a social venture that creates technology to solve problems in health education around the world. At Stanford, Maya was a peer advisor and a teaching assistant, and served as the undergraduate representative on the Board of Trustees Development Committee and on the student advisory board of the WSD HANDA Center for Human Rights and International Justice.
Maya holds a BA with distinction in human biology and a minor in human rights from Stanford University.
