Donna Leonard joined IWHC in February 2019 as major gifts director with nearly eight years of fundraising experience. In this role, she is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive organizational fundraising strategy, which includes event-based fundraising and individual donors, with a focus on major gifts.
Previously, she was the associate director for development and global initiatives at Human Rights Watch, where she oversaw fundraising in the US tri-state area and led the New York Committee. Prior to this role, she helped build new fundraising presences for Human Right Watch in India, South Africa, and Brazil, and planned the organization’s global Council Summit conference for 200+ donors.
Donna also serves as a Domestic Violence Response Team volunteer at Passaic County Women’s Center. She holds a BA from William Paterson University in political science and women and gender studies.
