The International Women’s Health Coalition (IWHC) is pleased to announce Kathleen Regan as the organization’s new board chair. As executive vice president and chief operating officer at the Commonwealth Fund, Ms. Regan brings a wealth of experience in the nonprofit and health care sectors.
“Kathy’s leadership, expertise, and commitment to the rights of women and girls has made her an integral part of our board,” said IWHC President Françoise Girard. “I am thrilled to welcome her as our new board chair and I know that she will guide IWHC to new heights.”
Kathleen Regan has served on IWHC’s board since 2015. Ms. Regan has been advising and investing in health care companies for the past 25 years. She became a venture partner at Radius Ventures in 2010; has served as a senior advisor to the US Department of State Global Health Initiative; and led the development of a $200 million public‒private partnership, Saving Mothers, Giving Life, to address maternal mortality in sub-Saharan Africa in 2012. From 2003 to 2010, Ms. Regan was a senior consultant to Warburg Pincus LLC, where she was involved in investing with the health care team and served as a board member to several portfolio companies. Earlier in her career, Regan was a managing director in investment banking focused on working with health care companies in raising capital and advising on mergers and acquisitions. Ms. Regan has served on numerous private and public boards of health care companies and currently serves on the board of the Boston Children’s Hospital and Power of Two. She received a BA from Princeton University and MPH from Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health. Ms. Regan succeeds Marlene Hess, who had served as IWHC’s board chair since 2013.
