Women for Women’s Human Rights (WWHR) – New Ways is a Turkish group with a 23-year track record of promoting women’s human rights, equality and non-discrimination in Turkey, regionally and internationally.
Women for Women’s Human Rights (WWHR) – New Ways undertakes its work with the aspiration and demand for a world in which women’s human rights and gender equality are intrinsically recognized, realized and safeguarded.
WWHR is known for its successful campaign to enact a domestic violence law and reform the Turkish civil and penal codes to advance women’s rights. For two decades, WWHR has offered the Human Rights Education Program for Women (HREP) a 16-week long training program to equip women with the knowledge and skills to become successful advocates, including communications and organizing skills. WWHR also spearheaded and co-founded the regional network, Coalition for Sexual and Bodily Rights in Muslim Societies (CSBR) in 2001 which brought together leading NGOs and academic institutions.
