PRIVACY POLICY

Last Updated on April 3, 2006

Welcome to the web site of the International Women's Health Coalition ("Our Site"). This user agreement ("User Agreement"), which includes our Privacy Policy, sets forth the conditions for your use of Our Site. We may update this User Agreement, including our Privacy Policy, from time to time by posting the modified User Agreement or Privacy Policy on this page, or, if we determine that it's appropriate, we may post a notice of the change on our home page. By continuing to use the Site after we have posted such modifications or notice, you agree to the modified terms.

Please read this Agreement carefully, because by using Our Site, you agree to be bound by and comply with its terms. If you do not agree to comply with the Agreement, you are not authorized to use Our Site.

PRIVACY POLICY

We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes our treatment of your personal information, how you can make choices about that treatment, and how you can request access to your information.

Collection of Personal Information

There are certain areas of Our Site where we ask for your personal information, such as your name, organization, address, telephone number, e-mail address, or credit card information ("Your Personal Information"). For example, we ask for Your Personal Information in the order form for our publications, in the form for your donations, and in the form for requesting email alerts.

We will use Your Personal Information for the purposes for which you provided it, and, unless you choose not to receive any further emails from us, we may also use your email address to send you information on different issues that we think may be of interest to you. If you do not want us to send you this information, you can check the opt-out box on the page where you fill in Your Personal Information, or notify the web administrator by emailing us at webmaster@iwhc.org or calling (212) 979-8500 and asking for the Web Site Administrator.

If you wish to make online contributions in support of our programs, Our Site will direct you to a third-party non-profit organization called Just Give, whose mission is to help other non-profit organizations with their fundraising activities. When you donate to Just Give, your personal information, including your email address, street address, and billing information, are provided only to Just Give. Just Give will forward to us only your name, email address and street address only if you permit the transfer of that personal information in your Just Give account preferences. If you have any questions concerning Just Give's treatment of your personal information, please review the policies available on its web site and contact that organization directly.

Anonymous Information

We may also collect anonymous information about visitors to Our Site, such as the number of visitors to Our Site, the browsers and computer systems used by visitors, and visitor IP addresses, which are the numbers assigned to each computer by a Web server. We collect this anonymous information solely to analyze how visitors use Our Site so we can improve the quality of the information and services we provide. We do not use anonymous information to identify visitors individually except in circumstances where we may deem it necessary in connection with legal process or for similar reasons.

Sharing Information With Third Parties

We do not share Your Personal Information with anyone except for our service providers (e.g., the companies that help us run and maintain Our Site, ship publications in response to your orders, and help us process your donations).

We may share anonymous information collected about visitors to Our Site with companies that help us run and maintain Our Site and that help us provide information and services to our visitors.

We reserve the right to disclose Your Personal Information to third parties if required by law or to enforce this Agreement. Of course, if we ever merge with another organization, Your Personal Information could be transferred along with our other assets.

Review and Update Your Personal Information

We will use reasonable efforts to let you review Your Personal Information and, upon your instructions, to correct inaccuracies in or delete Your Personal Information from our databases. If you wish to review Your Personal Information or have any questions regarding our treatment of Your Personal Information, you can contact us by sending an email to webmaster@iwhc.org, by calling (212) 979-8500 and asking for the Web Site Administrator, by faxing your questions to the Web Site Administrator at (212) 979-9009, or by mailing your questions to Web Site Administrator, International Women's Health Coalition, 333 Seventh Avenue, 6th Floor, New York, NY 10001, USA.

Security

We strive to keep Your Personal Information in a secure manner and safeguard it from unauthorized access by maintaining Your Personal Information in a password-protected database. Of course no transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so you provide Your Personal Information at your own risk.

Location of Servers and Transfer of Information

Our servers are located in the United States. If you are located outside of the United States, be aware that the information you provide to us will be transferred to the United States. By using our Site or providing Your Personal Information to us, you consent to this transfer and to the collection, storage, processing and use of your Personal Information in the United States. If you are located in the United States, our service providers may not be located in your geographic area in the United States. By providing Your Personal Information on the Site, you consent to the transfer of Your Personal Information to these service providers.

No Use By Under-13-Year-Olds

Our Site is designed for use solely by those 13 years and older. By using Our Site, you represent to us that you are over 13. If this is not the case, you should not use Our Site. If a parent or legal guardian becomes aware that your child under age 13 may have provided Personal Information to Our Site, please contact us at webmaster@iwhc.org.

Links to Third-Party Web Sites

Our Site contains links to other Web sites that we think may be of interest to you.  We have no control over these other sites or their content. Be sure to read the privacy policies that govern your use of other sites before giving them any of Your Personal Information. Because we are not responsible for the collection of personal information on any other site, you should direct any concerns regarding privacy practices to the web administrator of that site.
