On December 9, 2013, the IWHC Leadership Council Committee will host Rachel Vogelstein, Director of Women and Girls Programs at the Clinton Foundation and author of a Council on Foreign Relations report on child marriage.
Ms. Vogelstein will discuss how child marriage threatens the security and stability of countries that continue to practice it, and why ending early and forced marriage should be a priority for U.S. foreign policy.
The Young Advocates Network is a group of young people between the ages of 18-35 who come together to network, share ideas, access experts in the field, and take action to ensure a just and healthy life for women and girls worldwide.

At the April 21, 2015 Leadership Council Luncheon, filmmaker and Girl Rising CEO Holly Gordon spoke about the stories and inspiration behind the Girl Rising film and campaign in a conversation with IWHC President Françoise Girard. Released in 2013, the film has been translated into 48 languages and shown at more than 17,000 community-organized screenings around the world.
On September 9, 2014, IWHC celebrated its 30th Anniversary. U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg joined IWHC President Françoise Girard and Aryeh Neier, President Emeritus of the Open Society Foundations, for a discussion about progress and setbacks for women’s rights in the United States.
On June 9, 2014, more than 250 friends and supporters gathered in New York to celebrate the International Women’s Health Coalition’s 30th anniversary at a gala. At the event gala dinner, IWHC honored United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon for his tireless work to advance the rights of women and girls around the world.
IWHC also presented the second annual Joan B. Dunlop Award to Ninuk Widyantoro, co-founder of the YKP Women’s Health Foundation and an outstanding women’s health and rights activist based in Jakarta, Indonesia.
