Represent Women in Global Health Policy!

infocuslogoOn Thursday, May 14 at 1 p.m. ET, the Kaiser Family Foundation is holding a live, interactive webcast examining the global health funding within the President’s recently released Fiscal Year 2010 budget proposal. The webcast is a good way to generate discussion about global health priorities and funding. There is just one problem- although the discussion is moderated by Kaiser Family Foundation Vice President Jen Kates, each one of the four panelists is male! For a panel that purports to achieve an informed and thorough discussion of funding for programs such as the president’s Emergency Plan for AIDs Relief (PEPFAR), which effects women greatly, the lack of female representation on the panel is problematic.

We urge you to submit your questions on women’s health to the webcast and be sure to tune in to ensure that women’s health issues are well represented in this discussion! Questions can be submitted ahead of time or during the live program to infocus@kff.org.
